Wishing Against the House Cover Reveal!

I didn’t plan on writing this book. For reals.

But when I sat down to figure out The Last Wish Goodnight, I realized there was way too much going on for one book. Trusted writer friends confirmed this, as did the blurb test

So last summer, during the second or third whole-house move in a few months, I sat down with my multiverse co-writer (our books share a universe) and started picking the plot to bits. Throughout this process, so many cool ideas emerged that would have had NO space in the original concept.

And now, finally, Wishing Against the House is with the editor and beta readers, and it’s coming out November 2021! Woohoo!

Let this encourage you, epic authors out there: there’s always a way to untangle a story. Always.

Even when you move three times in one summer. 😉

Now breathe deep, go forth, and be awesome.

AND in honor of this cover reveal, the first two ebooks in The Steel City Genie series are FREE through September 9th, 2021. Click here to grab your copies now.

About the Book

My city is under attack by shadowfiends.
Apparently, this is my fault, thanks to the family I’ve never met.

At least the attack interrupted my first couples therapy session with Cendric. Small blessings, right?

Then my long-lost dad—yeah, the one that’s supposed to be dead—shows up to tell me that the shadowfiends are controlled by Raith, an old family member who’s here to recharge his magical batteries by any means necessary, including destroying Pittsburgh and me. Oh, and centuries ago, Raith picked a fight with the local dragons, so they’re after me as well.

Now I have to learn my family’s magic, stop Raith’s path of destruction, and make nice with the dragons. Speaking of which, did I mention my oh-so-quiet secretary has eloped with one of the dragons’ worst enemies?

Personally, all I want for Christmas is to survive until New Year’s.
And maybe, a vacation.
